Hooplandia Day, powered by 3x360 Sports, brought the heat to The Big E with nonstop competitive 3x3 basketball game play all day, the same way you experience tournament weekend. During the Opening Ceremony today, Hooplandia General Manager Drew Dawson announced that this coming Hooplandia will take place June 25-27, 2027.
Participating teams competing for the $1,500 prize pot included NYC 3x3, New Hampshire, Bloodline Basketball, The Works, the Hartford Colts, the Albany Ballers, DOF Sports and the Reapers.
In the end, the finals came down to the Hartford Colts and NYC 3x3 in a tense and territorial battle for State Street at The Big E, with the Hartford Colts claiming a critical win.
“We’ve had a great day,” said Coach Dawson. “What you see today is another indication of the rapid growth of 3x3 basketball. This game has attracted so many curious passersby to the Showcase Court today, too. We’ve had eight solid teams partaking in the competition today, and each one is helping us build Hooplandia bigger and better.”
The event was staffed by Hooplandia interns including Anthony Ardolino, Jr., representatives from 3x360 Sports and Referee Joey Reyes and his team. DJ Onyx set the tone for the day with a bumping soundtrack from 9am-3pm.
A jump contest by Jumps by Chi and Hooplandia-inspired Games on the Green, which featured peach basket basketball, both provided onlookers ways to engage and interact with Hooplandia Day’s bustling itinerary.
