Friday Night Hooptacular, June 19
The Friday night before tournament play is filled with fun, community-centered activities for all ages and playing abilities. Teams can check in early for the tournament on this night. Volunteers are primarily needed to help facilitate both competitive and recreational activities. Roles include:
Who fits this role? Individuals with a knack for customer service, 16+ years old. This role is primarily seated.
What will you do in this role? Team check-in is fast paced and the location where all teams must engage prior to tournament play. Troubleshooting with players, coaches and families with any registration issues and providing a welcoming and enthusiastic atmosphere. You cannot participate in Friday Night Hooptacular contests if you are volunteering for this role.
How many volunteers are needed? Two to four volunteers.
Who fits this role? Individuals with a knack for customer service, 16+ years old. This role is primarily seated, though getting up to restock swag bags may be needed.
What will you do in this role? All registered players receive a bag filled with items from our sponsors to thank them for their participation. Those in this role will be handing out bags and marking players once they receive them on a printed spreadsheet. Players may also receive additional perks as noted, so attention to detail and ability to read a spreadsheet are key in this role.
How many volunteers are needed? Two to four volunteers
Tournament Days, June 20-21
Do you want to be in the middle of the action and participate in the production of the tournament? These are the roles for you. The majority of these roles require active, physical participation, but they don’t all require basketball expertise. Morning and afternoon shifts are available for some roles; others require a full day commitment.
Who fits this role? Individuals who have a strong understanding of basketball and can keep up with the fast pace of the game, 16+ years old. This role can be done seated or standing.
What will you do in this role? You will be assigned to a court and will work in tandem with the Official and Timekeeper also assigned to the court. You will keep score and be sure the Official signs off on the final score at the end of each game. Consider signing up with a friend to work together to keep time and score!
How many volunteers are needed? 50+ volunteers daily.
Who fits this role? Individuals who have a strong understanding of basketball and can keep up with the fast pace of the game, 16+ years old. This role can be done seated or standing.
What will you do in this role? You will be assigned to a court and will work in tandem with the Official and Score Keeper also assigned to the court. You will keep time and be sure scoresheets are easily available for pick up by score sheet runners. Consider signing up with a friend to work together to keep time and score!
How many volunteers are needed? 50+ volunteers daily.
Who fits this role? Individuals or small groups who enjoy moving at a fast pace, 16+ years old, no experience necessary. This requires a significant amount of walking/standing.
What will you do in this role? Score sheet runners will be assigned to courts where they will be responsible for collecting score sheets from each score table. They will ensure the sheets have the information filled out correctly and then drop them at a central score sheet collection area. The games go quickly, so runners are constantly on the move.
How many volunteers are needed? 9+ volunteers daily.

Fan Activity Facilitators
Who fits this role? Individuals or pairs, 16+ years old, no experience needed, must be able to stand through duration of shift.
What will you do in this role? Hands-on activity stations will be available for fans to create art to show their basketball pride. This is a great role for someone who doesn’t mind getting their hands messy with paint or other craft supplies. In addition to helping visitors understand the activity, volunteers in this area will make sure the area stays organized and assist with clean-up as needed.
How many volunteers are needed? Four to six volunteers per day.
