Coach Joe Staszyszyn Announced for Hooplandia Day at Hall of Fame, April 22

Dedicated athletes know that there is no rest like an active rest to keep your skills sharp. This April break is your time to shine—while your competitors are hitting snooze. Check out Hooplandia Day at the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame on Wednesday, April 22, from 1-4pm. The event promises a 3x3 basketball skills clinic and a special guest appearance by Coach Joe Staszyszyn of USA Basketball.

Coach Staszyszyn eats, sleeps and breathes basketball. He is renowned for his expertise in bringing out the best skills in hoopers everywhere, and he does this as a player development coach at the USA Basketball Gold Camp, as a speaker with the USA Basketball National Coach Academy, as a Junior National Team Player Evaluator and as a clinician.

He lends his skills as a speaker, coach, clinician and consultant to Euroleague International, the International Basketball Federation (FIBA) and ESPN top-ranked high school players. He is a program consultant for the men’s and women’s basketball staff at Duke and Villanova, and coach and co-owner of Unleashed Potential Basketball of Carlisle, Penn.

“There’s no doubt that FIBA 3x3 basketball is exploding in popularity,” said Hooplandia General Manager Drew Dawson, “It is both a legitimate pathway for players to pursue a love for the game and a teaching tool to instruct and coach concepts translatable to 5v5. With that said, USA Basketball has embraced this moment best with the recent rollout of their 3X Play initiative. To have someone like Coach Stasyszyn assist with our Hooplandia Day 3x3-focused clinic while bringing his USA Basketball experience and knowledge is huge.”

Join Coach Staszyszyn and Drew Dawson—two-time New England Prep School Coach of the Year, Ireland U20 Men’s National Team Coach and Head Prep Coach at Choate Rosemary Hall—for a clinic focused on the fundamentals, pace and strategy of 3x3 basketball (recommended for ages 8 and up). Free play and activities are open for all ages.

Don’t miss the chance to learn from Coach Dawson, hone your skills alongside other athletes, and play on the Court of Dreams at the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame.
